The Vigilant Gargoyle

She serves in humble obscurity, high above the throngs who rarely see her because they are too busy to look up, and they don't like what she looks like, and what she reminds them of...Her teats hang flat and shriveled, drained by her fledglings, none of whom she has the power to save, all of whom she prays will come to roost higher than she upon the parapets of Truth...she sits, and reflects, and does her best to guard Good from Evil. She waits and thinks and watches...

About Me

My photo
romanreb
I'm a Catholic. That defines all else that I am. It is my heritage, my cross and my joy. It drives and colours all that I think, say and do. I didn't get this way by any logical procession, but miraculously and through God's overwhelming Mercy and Grace. It has been far easier for me than for most people---I think because I had less to work with and He is merciful. Sometimes the sheer Glory of it all presses down upon me so that I can hardly breathe... In addition, I am a wife, a mother a Texan and a faithful child of the Confederate States of America. I am a descendant of Chivalry and a denizen of Christendom. In short, I do not live in your "real world". But in the words of Puddleglum, my playworld "licks your real world hollow. That's why I'm going to stand by the play-world. I'm on Aslan's side even if there isn't any Aslan to lead it. I'm going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn't any Narnia...."
